Description

Dairy Bridge, built in 1822, is a Grade II* listed structure designed by architect Sir Richard Westmacott and constructed by a builder named Fisher. The bridge spans the River Nadder and features an ashlar facade. It has three segmental arches, each adorned with architraves and a cornice that extends as bands to the quadrant sides, which end in rounded piers on the west side. The bridge includes rounded breakwaters with drooned tops and pilaster strips flanking the arches. The parapet is pierced over the arches by heavy cast-iron lattice work grilles. Dairy Bridge serves as a route to Daye House, the Park Wall, and the public road to Netherhampton.
