Description
No. 2 Ashtonfields and the attached staff rooms were originally a cowshed and stables, dating from the late 18th century. The structure is built of stone rubble, with an open front that has been infilled with brick, and features a stone slate roof. It is a single-storey building with four bays, including a stone loose box at the left end. The roof is supported by tie beams and has a double purlin construction, with front posts that are jowled. Attached to the north is a stable block that has been converted into a house, constructed from limestone rubble with ashlar quoins. This block consists of three bays and has a central gable that previously had a pitching door, which has now been replaced by a window. Additionally, three dormers have been added to the rear of the building.
