Description
The barn, likely dating from the 17th century, is situated at Cleveland Lodge in North End, near Ashton Keynes. Constructed of limestone rubble with a stone slate roof, it originally comprised two bays and a midstrey, with a single bay added to the south to serve as a cattle house. A dwelling has been inserted into the north bay, and there's a gable to the west. A wash-house is located in a lean-to projection formed by the midstrey. A salting room is also present. In front of the barn stands a large stone orthostatic cistern, originally unearthed in Fore Street and subsequently reset here.
