Description
Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century and later. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of two blocks arranged at right angles. The west wing has three bays with a door located in the centre bay. It includes timber casement windows and a west gable stack. The roof of this wing is a double purlin type with ties and tenoned collars, but it lacks a ridge.
The north-south wing, which may date back to the 16th century, also has three bays and features a blocked door in the third bay. This wing contains timber casement windows set in deep splayed reveals and has a stone fireplace on the first floor with reserved chamfer jambs. Additionally, this wing has been extended to the south in the 18th or 19th century, and its roof includes in-line purlins along with collar and tie beam trusses.
