Description
The farmbuilding attached to the north end of Ashton Hall is a late 17th-century structure that has undergone 19th-century alterations. Originally used as stables and a granary, it is constructed of orange brick in English bond and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has a two-storey, four-bay north front with three stable doors that have shallow segmental brick heads, along with a larger opening in the third bay under a wooden lintel. The upper storey includes a line of ventilation slots and three 6-pane windows. On the left side, there is a flight of steps with stone treads leading to the granary door, and a small elliptical opening is present in the gable. The building is listed for its group value with Ashton Hall.
