Description

This is a row of early 19th-century building facades applied to older structures located at numbers 6 to 10 Catherine Street. Numbers 6 and 10 are four stories high, while number 8 is three stories high with an attic. The buildings are constructed of colourwashed brick. Number 6 has a hipped roof covered in old tiles and a wood band eaves cornice. Number 8 features a moulded wood band cornice and a brick parapet with coping. Number 10 incorporates a moulded wood cornice and a blocking course. Each upper floor has two windows; these are flush-framed sashes with intact glazing bars to number 6 and the second floor of number 8, and the third floor of number 10. The first floor of number 10 has a later tripartite sash window. The windows are set within flat brick arches. The shop fronts are plain and date from the later 19th century and are modern. Numbers 2 to 16 (even) form a group.
