Description
Nos 186 and 187 are two semi-detached cottages located on the north side of Purlpit in Atworth. They date from the late 17th century but were altered and extended in the mid-19th century. The cottages are built of rubble stone and feature a hipped Welsh slate roof with stone stacks. They are two stories high and have a total of four windows.
No 186 retains its 17th-century ground floor, which includes a four-panelled door and a two-light recessed hollow-chamfered mullioned casement with a hoodmould to the left, along with a three-light casement to the right. No 187 has a four-panelled door on the right return and two 19th-century mullioned casements on its main front, positioned to the right of a straight joint. The first floor of No 187 features four two-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. The left return of the building has two two-light mullioned casements on both the ground and first floors.
