Description
The barn at Whitley Farm is a late 17th-century structure built from rubblestone, featuring a roof made of stone slate and asbestos corrugated materials, along with stone coped verges and saddlestones. It consists of eight bays and has projecting gabled porches, which are not opposed. The entrance porch, facing Whitley Farmhouse, includes wooden double doors. There are 19th and 20th-century outshuts at both the front and rear, with a rear porch that has a hipped gable. To the right, there is an attached outbuilding from the 18th century, which has a hipped roof made of stone slate.
Inside, the barn features tie and collar beam trusses and a butt purlin roof. There is some inserted flooring to the right and left of the entrance, along with a stone-walled partition also located to the right.
