Description
The Pear Tree Inn is an inn that dates from the late 17th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubblestone and features a stone slate roof with saddleback coped verges, kneelers, and a finial on the right side. The building has two storeys and three windows. The central door is topped with a moulded cornice over the lintel. On either side of the door are paired 12-pane sash windows with plain cases and a mullion. Above the door, there is a single 12-pane sash window with paired sashes on either side. The left side of the building has a blocked 3-light ovolo mullioned window with a drip mould at both the ground and first floors, as well as a 2-light ovolo mullioned window with a drip mould in the attic. The right side has an altered ground floor but retains a 2-light ovolo mullioned window in the attic. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut that features a 2-light cyma mullioned window and a Roman tiled roof. Inside, there is a good 19th-century inn interior with a ceiling that has chamfered beams with stops.
