Description
This is a cottage located at 209 Corsham Road, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of rubblestone and features a Roman tiled roof with a brick stack on the left side. The cottage is set back and positioned at right angles to the street. It has two storeys and two windows on the front facade.
The entrance is a beaded six-panel door located to the right of centre, sheltered by a planked porch. To the right of the door is a single light cyma moulded casement, while to the left is a two-light cyma moulded mullioned window. On the upper floor, there are two two-light cyma moulded mullioned windows, each with eight-pane sashes.
The right side of the cottage is brick and includes a lean-to outbuilding made of corrugated iron. The left side has a small casement window positioned to the right. At the rear, there is a rubblestone outshut with a casement window. The interior has not been inspected. This cottage is notable for being a well-preserved example of the early 18th-century stone cottages that are common in this parish.
