Description

Wharf Cottage is a pair of cottages, now functioning as a house, built in the late 18th century. The structure is made of rubble stone and features a slate roof with coped gables and end stacks. It is two stories high and has a double-fronted main range, with matching two-story, one-window sections at each end that have lower-pitched roofs.

The main range includes two 2-light cyma-moulded flush mullion windows on each floor, with dripmoulds above the lower windows. There is an off-centre door with a hood supported by brackets; originally, there were paired doors under a single hood, but one door has been blocked and the hood has been cut back. The end sections each have a 4-pane window on both floors, with a dripstone above the lower windows.

Wharf Cottage overlooks the site of the Wilts and Berks Canal Wharf.
