Description
The Old Coaching House is a house dating from around 1600, constructed with a timber frame and rubble stone, topped with a stone slate roof and featuring a large rear chimney gable. The building has two storeys and an attic. The front and west side have a rubble stone ground floor, with a renewed window and door at the front. Above this, there is exposed box-framing with angle bracing, along with a triple casement window and a pair of casement windows at the front. The right side displays moulded eaves, while the left side features a large, decoratively framed dormer gable with one small leaded light. The timber-framing on the west wall is covered with weatherboarding, and the east wall is made of rubble stone. The rear chimney gable has timber-framing at an angle to the right. Inside, there are moulded Tudor-arched fireplaces on both the ground and first floors.
