Description
South Electricity is an early 19th-century building located at 17 New Canal. It features three storeys of painted brick, although the ground floor has been entirely modernized. There is a block sill course with a bed mould at the second floor. The building has a parapet with leaded coping. The upper floors have five symmetrical windows, which are recessed sashes set in stucco architrave surrounds. The first-floor windows are tall and have a frieze and moulded cornice above each, although they have later glazing. The ground floor includes a modern shop front and a driveway. South Electricity, along with John Halle's Hall and Nos 17 & 19, forms a group.
