Description

Old Farmhouse is a detached house that was originally a farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with a coped verge on the right side and a hip on the left, along with stone stacks. The building has a main range with a cross wing to the left and is two stories high with an attic, presenting a three-window facade.

A 20th-century door, set in a cyma-moulded surround, is located to the left of the center and is topped by a flat stone hood supported by brackets. The windows include 2-light and 3-light beaded mullioned casements, with two 3-light and one 2-light beaded mullioned casements on the first floor. The attic gable of the cross wing to the left has a 3-light mullioned casement, and the right return features a 3-light attic mullioned casement.

The rear of the main range has ovolo-mullioned casements and a 20th-century added porch, while the cross wing has 3-light beaded mullioned casements. Inside, the structure has been altered but still retains chamfered beams on the first floor, planked doors, and doors with two fielded panels, some of which have been reset. There is also a reset 19th-century Tudor-arched stone fireplace. The roof is a 4-bay collar and tie-beam design with two tiers of chamfered purlins.
