Description
Broughton Gifford Strict Baptist Chapel is a Particular Baptist chapel, now serving as a strict Baptist chapel, founded in 1806, with a Sunday school added to the rear in 1830. The building is constructed of dressed limestone and features a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate. The entrance is located in the gable end facing the road. The chapel is two stories tall with a three-window front, which includes a lean-to porch with double planked doors and a round-arched fixed window on either side. Above the porch, there is a gallery with three round-arched windows. The right and left sides of the building have two round-arched windows with central mullions. At the rear, there is a single-storey schoolroom that has 16-pane sash windows and planked doors, with the rear window of the chapel being blocked. The interior reportedly retains a gallery at the west end and features a 19th-century white marble mural tablet dedicated to William Blake, the pastor.
