Description
The Fox and Hounds is an inn located in Broughton Gifford, dating from around 1700 and the late 18th century. It features painted rubble stone construction and a stone slate roof with stone stacks. The building is two storeys high and has four windows across its front. The entrance consists of a four-panelled door with a flat stone hood supported by brackets. To the right of the door is a 2-light recessed hollow-chamfered mullioned casement, while to the left are a pair of flush mullioned sash windows and a central blocked doorway. The left side also has a 2-light cyma-mullioned casement and another pair of flush mullioned sashes. On the first floor, there are two 3-light cyma-mullioned casements, along with a 2-light and a 3-light wooden casement. There is a blocked doorway on the right return. The rear of the building includes a lean-to extension on the left and a 20th-century extension on the right.
