Description

This is a mid-19th century detached cottage located on the south side of The Common in Broughton Gifford. The cottage is constructed of limestone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof and gable end stone stacks. It presents a gable end to the road. The two-storey, two-window front features a central 6-panelled door recessed within a trellised tent porch. Either side of the door are 12-pane sashes, and the first floor has two similar sashes. A lean-to extension is attached to the left return, and sashes are visible at the rear. The building is listed as a good, unaltered example of a 19th-century cottage built on the edge of the common, demonstrating group value.
