Description
Toll Cottage, built around 1814, is a single-storey and attic structure made of brick and flint, with some parts rendered. It features a thatched roof and has three bays, with the central bay having a canted front projection that includes a central door. The door and windows in the projection are topped with two-centred pointed brick arches and have leaded lights arranged in a 'Y' pattern, along with shutters. The windows in the end bays are also leaded and have triple lobed heads. Fluted wood pilasters are located at the end corners, each topped with a roundel. Above the projection, there is a two-centred dormer set within the thatched roof, which is hipped and extends to create a wide overhanging walkway supported by slender iron columns. The thatch extends down to the rear over a vertical boarded extension that features a flush dormer. There is a stack on the rear slope of the roof.
