Description

No. 20 South Street is a house dating from the 18th to 19th century. It is constructed from sarsen rubble with brick dressings and lacings, topped with tiled roofs. The building is two stories high and consists of two sections. The earlier section on the left has three bays, with the central door removed. The right section has two wider bays, featuring an entrance located against the first block beneath a 20th-century pitched roof porch. The windows are 12-pane sashes with segmental brick heads. The roof is hipped on the left side, with a central stack opposite the door on the left block and a stack on the right gable. There are 20th-century additions at the left end and to the rear.
