Description
The Old Malt House is a farmhouse that features an early 19th-century refacing of an 18th-century outbuilding. It is constructed of brick with a tiled roof, and has sarsen rubble at the rear and sides. The building is two stories high and consists of three bays, with an additional bay extending to the right. Inside, there is a central entrance hall that leads to a rear stair tower, front reception rooms, and rear service rooms. The entrance includes a six-panelled and fielded door, with the upper panels glazed, set within a wide fluted doorcase and topped by a bracketed canopy. The windows are 16-pane sashes with painted gauged brick flat arches. The eaves are dentilled, and the roof is hipped with a stack on the left gable and a two-flue stack on the third bay. The interior features panelled doors.
