Description

Turnpike Cottage is a house dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed sarsen rubble, with the third bay rendered. The cottage features a thatched roof and is one storey high with an attic, positioned gable end facing the road. Originally consisting of two bays, it has been extended to the right by one additional bay. The entrance includes a 20th-century glazed door, with thatch extending down to create a porch. The windows are made of timber and have leaded glazing. A gable stack is located between the second bay and the extension. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam.
