Description
The Dutch Barton is an early 19th-century building located on Church Street. It has a two-storey frontage made of ashlar with rusticated quoins. The first floor features a plain string course, a moulded cornice, and a plain parapet. The roof is covered with stone tiles. The building has five sash windows with glazing bars. The main doorway is plain and includes a semi-circular fanlight above a six-panel door. The doorway for No 17 is situated to the right of the front in a narrow lane, featuring a square-headed design with five panels, two of which are glazed. The Dutch Barton is part of a group of listed buildings on Church Street, which includes the Chantry, Little Chantry, Barton Orchard, and the Catholic Church of St Thomas More, along with several other properties on Barton Orchard and Newtown.
