Description

The guide post at the crossroads in Donhead St. Andrew dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and features two shaped arms. The left arm has raised lettering that reads "BROOKWATER / DONHEAD & TISBURY," while the right arm displays "SHAFTESBURY / ASHMORE & TOLLARD." At the top of the post is an ogee finial. This guide post is a notable example of the surviving 19th-century guide posts in the area.
