Description

Foxley Manor is a detached house dating from the early 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The original section features coursed rubble stone, while the later wings are constructed from coursed and squared rubble, accented with flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, wooden lintels, and stone slate roofs topped with stone stacks. The building has an irregular T-shaped plan and the northeast front is two stories high with an attic, featuring seven windows. The ground floor has paired 6-pane sash windows and single 16-pane sash windows, while the upper floor is adorned with 3-light casements. The early 20th-century wing on the right has small leaded pane casements and includes two gabled dormers. A gabled stone slate porch with a round-headed entrance and a ball finial at the apex leads to a part-glazed panelled door. The south end has a single stack with a moulded base and cap, a paired ridge stack with a moulded base and cap, and a tall stack on the early 20th-century wing with a moulded cap. The rear wing features late 19th-century mullioned windows. Inside, there is a Tudor-arched doorway in the right-hand room on the ground floor, along with some chamfered beams.
