Description

Clift Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage located on Langley Road in Chippenham. The building features painted limestone ashlar on the front, with rubblestone at the rear, and has a pantile roof with wide eaves. Moulded ashlar stacks are present at the gable ends, while brick stacks are located at the rear. The cottage has a two-unit plan with a rear outshut.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. The windows have plain unpainted surrounds and are Tudor-arched, with leaded stone mullions; there are two-light windows on the sides and a single-light window above a Tudor-arched six-panel door that is glazed at the top. Additional architectural features include an eaves band, a first-floor band, and a plinth. The rear outshut extends to the left side and includes a two-light window on both floors, stepped coping, and a canted bay window with a flat roof and segmental-arched windows. The interior has not been inspected.
