Description

The Old Bakery is a house dating from the mid-17th century, featuring rendered timber framing and brickwork with a thatched roof. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, following a lobby entry plan. The entrance includes a six-panelled door located opposite the stack. The windows are two-light paned casements that are irregularly spaced, with a square thatched bay on the left end for the drawing room and a glazed door in the centre bay. The right gable end displays a large queen strut truss with single purlins. The roof is half-hipped. At the rear, the left bay has a single bay 19th-century wing that was formerly the bakehouse, while the right bay features a larger rear extension, likely a dairy, which is now used as a kitchen. A glazed yard is situated between the wings. Inside, there is a staircase located in the entrance lobby in front of the stack.
