Description
Nos 493 and 494 on Mill Lane are a house that has been converted into two cottages, dating from the 17th century. The building is timber framed with whitewashed brick noggings and some sections of wattle and daub. It features a thatched roof and is single storey with an attic, consisting of three bays, with a central half bay that contains a stack, suggesting it was originally designed with a lobby entry plan. The framing consists of three panels high with corner braces. The entrance to cottage 493 is located in a tiled extension to the left bay. The property has various timber windows, including 17th and 18th century two and three-light windows with leaded casements in three flush dormers, and a brick stack.
