Description

The Old Post Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed infill and brick laced flint on the gable of the third bay. The cottage has a thatched roof and is single storey with an attic, consisting of three bays. The upper parlour bay is taller and independently framed, while the lower bays are smaller. The framing has three panels high with corner braces. The entrance is located laterally to the upper bay and consists of a boarded door. There are two and three-light windows, along with a square 20th-century bay window on the lowest right end. The upper bay has a flush dormer, and the central bay features a small gabled dormer. A 17th-century brick stack is situated at the junction of the builds, and the roof is half hipped. The interior has not been seen but may be of interest.
