Description
No 275 is a cottage located in Ablington, dating from the mid 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and brick noggings, topped with a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. A late 17th to early 18th century timber-framed bay has been added to the west end, and there is a brick outbuilding to the east. The layout includes a living room with an inner room and a parlour located behind the stack. The framing features two panels high with reverse curved corner braces. Originally, the door led directly into the living room, with a lintel carved with the date 1665. The current entrance is positioned against the stack and includes a baffle lobby. The cottage has a thatched porch and a door with a glazed panel, along with paned timber windows and two gabled flush dormers. Inside, the parlour features a chamfered spine beam with a diamond stop.
