Description
Ablington Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse located in Figheldean. It is constructed from chalk cob and features a thatched roof, with brick extensions that have various tiled roofs. The building is two storeys high and has a four-cell plan, with a continuous outshut and wings added to the rear at both ends. The west kitchen wing includes an inner bay from around 1880, along with later single-storey additions. The entrance to the stair hall is in the second bay from the west, featuring a panelled door. The windows are timber with panes, including a canted bay in the central living room, a square bay in the west end drawing room, and some leaded windows in the billiard room at the east end. The stair was formerly located in the outshut, and there are three brick stacks on the roof.
