Description
Shaw Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century and late 18th century. It is built of Flemish bond brick with flush stone quoins and has timber framing at the rear. The roof is made of stone slate and features gable stacks and dormers. The building has three bays and is two stories tall with an attic, featuring a central stair hall that separates the reception rooms. There is a 19th-century extension on the right side and a rear extension that includes an end stone stack and gable. The windows are 12-pane sashes with sidelights, set under gauged brick flat arches. The eaves are decorated with brick dentils. The central door is glazed and has a 20th-century porch. The dormers are hipped and have six panes each. The interior has not been seen.
