Description

53 and 55 Burnivale is a house, now an attached pair, believed to date from around 1620. It has been divided into two and altered over time. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring a brick ridge stack and an interlocking tile roof. It has a three-room parallel plan and is single storey with an attic, presenting a three-window range to the street. The street elevation includes small 19th-century casements at either end and a central raking half dormer. The interior has not been inspected, but it is reported to contain a large 17th-century fireplace and 17th-century roof timbers.
