Description

Lower Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, built of red brick with ashlar dressings and a roof of Bridgwater tiles. It features a stack on the south end and a rear stack. The two-storey house has an attic and originally had a three-window front. The windows are cyma-moulded flush mullion windows with leaded lights—three lights on each side and two lights over the door, which has a flush surround and a hood on brackets. A blank two-light attic window is located on the south end wall. A central rear wing and a 20th-century wing to the southeast are also present. The property was previously known as Poplar Farmhouse and belonged to the Rawlings family from the 18th century to the 20th century.
