Description
The stables south-west of West Dean Farmhouse date from the 18th century and are constructed of English bond brickwork with a tiled roof. This stable range forms the west side of the farmyard and consists of a four-bay block that is two storeys high, with a loft above the stables. It continues to the north as a single-storey animal house, which is now used as a fowl house and storage. The two-storey range features a stable door with a loading door above it, while the single-storey section has a small central gable. Although the interior has been altered, it still includes a manger with a feed drop from the loft. The building is listed primarily for its group value.
