Description
Vallance Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and has a slate roof that replaced the original thatch. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a mid-19th century extension to the left that adds two more bays. The central entrance features a six-panelled door set within a later wide rustic porch. There is a plat band running along the building. The ground floor has twelve-paned sash windows, while the upper floor has sixteen-paned sash windows, with all openings framed by brick dressings and gauged lintels. Buttresses are located near the ends of the elevation. The roof is hipped, and there are stacks at the gable ends. The extension includes a central stable door and 20th-century timber windows, also with gauged lintels.
