Description

Well Cottage and the attached cottage are a row of cottages, dating from the 18th or early 19th century. They have been converted into two separate dwellings. The walls are colourwashed flint faced chalkstone with brick quoins, and the roof is thatched. The cottages are single-storey with an attic. The southern cottage is of two bays, with a lobby entry plan, a central boarded door, and timber casement windows with segmental heads to the ground floor. There are flush dormers to the upper floor. Well Cottage, to the north, is a five-bay range set back from the front, with half-brick segmental arches over the ground floor openings and three flush dormers in the attic. A sixth bay at the upper end has a lower roof, likely a 19th-century addition. A flat-roofed service extension is located at the rear.
