Description

This milestone, located approximately 120 metres south of the junction with Bustard Road, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of limestone and features a rectangular pillar with a cast-iron plate on the front. The plate has raised lettering that reads: SALISBURY /10/ DEVIZES /13. The turnpike road from Salisbury to Devizes was completed by 1775.
