WESTBURY BRATTON ROAD 1. 5411 (South Side) Lopes Mausoleum in ST 85 SE 1/120 Westbury Cemetery ST 85 SE 2/120

  1. Locally called the Lopes Mausoleum. Circa 1910. 2 bay Norman style chapel with apse. Rough faced rubble basement for vault, reached by steps on South side. Ashlar built with moulded cill and impost strings, latter carried over round headed windows. Moulded eaves cornice to stone tile roof. Coped verges with segmental capped footstones. Gable end to East. Oculus in gable. Arcaded band below. Round headed entrance of 3 orders, centre enriched with chevron ornament. Tudor arch doorway with 16 panel doors. 2 shields in tympanum. Buried within are George Ludlow and his wife Georgina [died 1912].
