Description
The Tugwell monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 6 meters south of the south-west angle of the porch of the Church of St. Christopher. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed from ashlar stone. The monument features a plinth, a moulded base, a capstone, and a ridged top stone. Each side has a single plaque that steps forward from the rebated angles and includes incised line decoration. The south side bears an inscription dedicated to H. Tugwell, who died in 1821.
