Description
5 and 7 Milton Street are a pair of houses built in the early to mid 19th century, located in Higher Brixham. The houses have solid rendered walls that are lined to imitate masonry and feature a slated roof with crested ridge-tiles. A rendered chimney with square tapered pots sits at the center of the ridge, while a red-brick chimney, which is partly rendered, is located on the right end wall. The buildings are two storeys high and have mirrored fronts, each one window wide, with doorways at the outer ends. No. 5 has a four-panelled door with a two-paned fanlight, while No. 7 has a late 20th-century wooden door, also with a two-paned fanlight. The windows are predominantly six-paned sashes, except for the upper-storey window at No. 5. These houses are included for their group value.
