Description
Turnpike Cottage at Windy Corner is a toll house, likely dating from around 1838, and now used as a private dwelling. It is situated on Brixham Road, near Broadsands. The building has solid rendered walls and a slate roof, with hipped front and back sections. It features two rendered chimneys on the left side wall. The corners of the building are broadly splayed outwards at the Brixham Road end. The cottage is two storeys high, with one window on each storey facing Brixham Road, within the splayed corners. These windows have plain, late 20th-century wooden frames. A late 20th-century window is set within a lean-to porch on the right side wall, and there is a narrow upper-storey window to the right of it. A further upper-storey window is present on the left side wall.
