Description
Aylmer House is an early to mid-19th century end-of-terrace house located in Higher Brixham. It has solid rendered walls and a slated roof, with a rendered chimney on each end wall. The symmetrical three-window front features a central doorway with panelled double doors, panelled reveals, and a late 20th-century tiled hood. The windows have six-paned sashes, and a continued sill band runs along the upper storey. Flanking pilasters are present, with each storey featuring a round-headed panel. A deep, flat eaves cornice is also visible. The front garden is raised above street level with a retaining wall constructed of stone rubble, which projects forward at either end and flanks the gate to form piers.
