Description

The gate piers and garden walls located to the west of Avonleigh were built in the late 1860s, around the same time as Avonleigh itself. The garden walls are made of local grey limestone rubble, while the gate piers are rendered. These walls enclose a large garden on the Acadia Road side of Avonleigh. The square section gate piers feature plain bases and oversailing moulded caps with square moulded tops. This structure is included for its group value.
