Description

The coach house and stable block east of Burderop Cottage dates from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the early 18th century and a 19th-century addition to the east side. This single-storey structure creates a symmetrical balance with the east front of Burderop Cottage, located across the forecourt, which is now a lawn. It contributes to the formal approach to Burderop Park. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a hipped stone slate roof. The symmetrical west front includes early 18th-century sash windows with stone surrounds that have eared architraves, and a similar surround frames the central doorway, which has brick relieving arches above it. The 19th-century extension to the coach house is located on the east side. Inside, there are horse stalls and reused ceiling beams, including some moulded beams from the 17th century.
