Description
This is a retaining wall and steps located 15 yards south of Leyhill, constructed around 1850 by S.S. Teulon. The retaining wall is made of coursed rubble and stands approximately 6 feet high, featuring ashlar saddleback coping. It includes buttresses at intervals, with squat ashlar uprights that support ball finials. There is a flight of 9 steps with flanking walls at either end, extending the full length of the terrace immediately south of Leyhill. At the eastern end, the wall features a pierced quatrefoil parapet as it returns northwards to the gatehouse wall.
