Description
Granville Lodge and Wood View are two attached houses located on Haw Lane in Olveston. Granville Lodge dates from the early 19th century, while Wood View is from the early 18th century, both with later alterations and additions. The buildings are constructed of rubble and rendered, with Granville Lodge featuring a two-span double Roman tiled roof and brick gable stacks, while Wood View has a hipped pantiled roof.
Granville Lodge has a symmetrical front with two storeys and three windows, all of which are 16-pane sashes. The central round-headed opening includes impost blocks and features a panelled and glass door with a fanlight and radial glazing bars. To the left, there is a single-storey wing that has one 16-pane sash window and a 20th-century conservatory, along with a parapet and cornice. The rear of Granville Lodge includes two and three-light casements, a door, and a single-storey stable wing with three windows and two doors.
Wood View has two storeys and one window, both of which are sashes. The north elevation has three windows, with sashes on the ground and first floors to the left, two 16-pane sashes at the first floor, one at the ground floor, and a 20th-century window. There is a gabled porch in the second bay from the left, with a panelled and glass door to the left and a 20th-century door to the right. Wood View was formerly a farm cottage belonging to Hawkfield House.
