Description

The Elms is a house with origins dating back to the 17th century, which was enlarged and refronted in the early 19th century, with later alterations. The building is constructed of rubble and has a rendered stucco front. It features a slate roof with raised, coped verges and gable stacks, while the rear has a three-span roof covered with pantiles. The house is two storeys high and has four windows, all of which are 16-pane sashes.

The second bay from the right has a flat-roofed porch adorned with quatrefoils on the corner dies, a cornice, a parapet, and coping. The porch includes an outer double door and an inner six-panelled door with a fanlight and decorative radial glazing bars, flanked by pilasters and topped with an open pediment on short pilasters.

The north elevation displays irregular windows, including a first-floor left two-light casement with leaded lights, a first-floor right sash in an exposed box, a plank door to the left, and a panelled and glass door with a transom light to the right. The south elevation features a bow with three windows, consisting of two sashes and a central three-pane sash, with a 16-pane sash above that has a drip mould. The rear of the house has two windows, with sashes on the first floor, a 20th-century door, and a 16-pane sash on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
