Description
This is an 18th-century milestone. It consists of a square cast iron plaque, now set upon a concrete upright. The plaque is inscribed with the following information: “9 MILES TO CHIPPENHAM BRIDGE,” “12 MILES AND 1 FURLONG TO BRISTOL (Road)”.
