Description
A pair of houses located on the north side of Hay Street in Marshfield, dating to the mid-18th century. The houses are built of coursed squared rubble stone with a double Roman tiled roof and coped, raised verges. They are five bays wide, with quoins at the ends and a string course above the ground floor. The windows are a mixture of sash windows with glazing bars and 20th-century casement windows with glazing bars, all set within edge roll-moulded architraves. The front doors are 2-panelled and positioned within edge roll-moulded surrounds, topped by a pediment supported on brackets. The building represents a simple, late example of local provincial Baroque architecture, displaying characteristics of the wider region.
