Description
This is a detached kitchen block, barn, and granary located 10 meters northwest of Mudgedown Farmhouse. It dates from the early 17th century to the early 18th century, with later additions. The building is constructed of rubble and features double Roman tile and pantile roofs. The oldest section, situated at the southwest, is 1½ storeys high, containing one room above and two below, all under gables. It has irregular window arrangements, with a ground floor door on the south side and a first floor door accessed by an external transverse staircase on the east side. Inside, there is a fireplace with a bread oven, the position of a winder stair, and extended collar trusses that are chamfered and stopped. To the north is a barn with two parallel roofs and four bays, supported by tie and collar trusses. Adjacent to the east is a 1½ storey granary with four bays, which has an attic accessed by a transverse external staircase on the east side, also featuring tie and collar trusses.
